The purpose of the Govanhill Baths Building Preservation Trust (GBBPT) is to deliver the refurbishment of the Baths.

Govanhill Baths Community Benefit Society (GBCBS) was established in 2017. The Society is a democratic community-owned social enterprise, and is run by a board of directors, elected annually by its members.

The Govanhill Baths Building has been brought into community ownership, with exterior restoration now complete and the building made watertight. A £10 million fundraising effort is currently underway to revamp the interior, following construction costs that more than doubled during the pandemic.

When Govanhill Baths reopens, people can expect a wide range of health, wellbeing, fitness, and community facilities designed to meet the needs of a diverse population.

Since the external refurbishment was completed in 2025 at a cost of £9.6 million, the refurbishment of our beloved Govanhill Baths continues to move forward as part of one of the most ambitious community-led regeneration projects in Glasgow.
